Paco Ferrando was born in 1946 and grew up in Cabrils, a suburb of Barcelona (Spain).
In 1969 Ferrando graduated from the Superior School of Fine Arts “San Jordi” (University
of Barcelona) with a degree in painting. Upon graduation he began traveling throughout
the low countries studying the Dutch and Flemish styles of painting.

In 1973 he spent time in Madrid, where he integrated the movement of Castillian Realism
into his works. He also began exhibiting his works at this time in group exhibitions and
in 1975 held his first solo exhibition at Gallery Farrés in Barcelona.

In 1976 Ferrando opened his own studio and gallery in Calella, outside of Barcelona. In
1978 his work was introduced to galleries in Amsterdam and Brussels where his work was
well received by art patrons.

Ferrando has held exhibitions of his work in the Spanish cities of Blanes, Barcelona,
Madrid, Tenerife, Calella, Platja d’Aro, along with Amsterdam in Holland and Brussels in
Belgium.

Throughout his career, Ferrando has been awarded several prizes for his hyper-realistic
style.

1993: Third Prize”Certamen de Pintura Cabildo” Puerta de la Cruz (Tenerife).
1995: Honorary Mention “Certamen de Pintura Nuevo Realismo” University
of La Laguna (Tenerife).
2002: Second Prize “Concurs de Pintura Fundació Jean-Frederic Forest”.
2004: First Prize “Concurs de Pintura Fundació Jean-Frederic Forest”.
2005: First Prize “Certamen de Pintura Port d’Aiguadolç” Sitges.
2006: Selected in the “I Concurso de Pintura Figurativa”, and the “VIII Premi
de Pintura Honda” La Garriga (Barcelona)

Paco Ferrando’s style is that of an established painter – his skilled techniques and realistic
reflections are meticulous. His love of automobiles is matched by his love of his craft as
he expresses himself on his boards. His masterful detail, his beautiful shadows and his
particular stroke all combine to create hyper-realistic depictions of his antiqued infatuation
