Balasz Wanyi was born in Hungry, 1943. Intrigued by the glazing techniques used by the Old Masters, he started to perfect his skills using these same techniques.

Wanyi¹s compositions slowly take form through many layers of oil glazes applied to a wood panel. Each layer must dry before another is applied, taking tremendous patience and skill.

The artist chooses fruits with imperfections, drawing the viewer to look beyond to enjoy the beauty and harmony of the composition of his subject.

The fruit becomes a metaphor for man¹s character, inviting us to look beyond the flaws and celebrate in the beauty and uniqueness of each human being.
