Baczuk Jean

About The Artist

Jean Baczuk was born in Southern California, but she spent her adolescence and much of her adult years in Colorado.
From a very young age she wanted to be an artist. Working primarily in oil, she uses a glazing technique which requires layers of color, built up slowly and methodically, creating an illusion of dimension and inner light.
Baczuk is self-taught, having spent many hours studing the techniques of artists she admires.
Her work shows an affinity for simple compositions, dramatically lit by a single light source. Her paintings are often mistaken for photographs.
She has been in many juried shows where her work has won awards, and she was one of several artists featured in the “Collector’s Choice” in 2003 issue of Southwest Magazine.
Jean’s work has been displayed at prominent galleries and shows throughout the United States.
